Planter Media Project #1
This project challenges the notion of how landscape and architecture can be used to separate and integrate people. It was installed at UT in Austin more specifically at the West Mall part of campus in 2011. In the 1970s UT placed anti-riot landscaping in the area to deter people from congregating and organizing within the space. This media was presented and accompanied by a planter that was set up in a paved section of the west mall. It's purpose was to raise awareness of how the space was once used and connect people to the student and community movements that took place at that time.
