The Lemonade Stand was a temporary installation that enabled participants to earn a glass of lemonade by completing a playful task. Each activity challenged the participant to think critically, creatively, and playfully about how we exchange goods and services. This work is about the re-envisioning (detournement) of a watered down symbol of American capitalism, the lemonade stand. A library accompanied the station, sharing resources pertaining to solidarity economy and the commodification of art.
